BALTIMORE - The Kansas City Royals prefer to simply savour their exceptional performance at Camden Yards rather than ponder the historical ramifications of where its gotten them.Alcides Escobar doubled in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning, Mike Moustakas extended his home run-binge and Kansas City remained perfect in the playoffs, beating the Baltimore Orioles 6-4 Saturday for a 2-0 lead in the AL Championship Series. Now, the Royals head back to Kansas City with the knowledge that no team has ever lost a best-of-seven LCS after winning the first two games on the road.We dont want to be the first team to do that, designated hitter Billy Butler said. Thats all I get from that.Lorenzo Cain had four hits, scored twice and drove in a run for the wild-card Royals, who are 6-0 in the playoffs this year, including 4-0 on the road. The Orioles hadnt lost two in a row in Baltimore since June 28-29, but Kansas City found a way to quiet the towel-waving, screaming crowds. The atmosphere here is great. It didnt affect us, Butler said. Now well go home and see if they can play in our atmosphere.Moustakas homered for the fourth time in five games as the Royals won their ninth straight in the post-season, a string dating to the 1985 World Series. To come in here and win two games against a great team like that, its huge for us, Moustakas said. A lot of confidence going back home.Game 3 is Monday at Kauffman Stadium. Former Oriole Jeremy Guthrie will start for the Royals against either Wei-Yin Chen or Miguel Gonzalez. We know theyre a good team, Royals closer Greg Holland said after earning his second save of the series. You cant really get too high on yourself. The Orioles and manager Buck Showalters team now must buck history to get Baltimore its first pennant since 1983.If one team can do it, its us, slugger Nelson Cruz said. The series aint over, insisted Adam Jones, who hit his first playoff home run. If you guys (are) thinking its over, why are we going to show up on Monday? After squeezing out an 8-6 win in 10 innings on Friday night, the Royals again took apart the Baltimore bullpen with a late uprising. With the score tied at 4 in the ninth, Omar Infante beat out an infield roller off Darren ODay, the losing pitcher for the second straight day.Zach Britton entered, and Moustakas laid down a bunt that moved pinch-runner Terrance Gore to second. Escobar then sliced an opposite-field grounder inside first base to bring home Gore.Cain added an RBI single to become the only Royals player other than Hall of Famer George Brett to have a four-hit game in the post-season.For the second time in two games, Wade Davis earned the win and Holland got three outs for the save. Holland struck out Steve Pearce with a runner on to end it.If you could go home 1-1, youre going to be really, really happy, manager Ned Yost said. If you can go home 2-0, thats as good as it gets.Baltimores Bud Norris allowed four runs and nine hits in 4 1-3 innings. Royals rookie Yordano Ventura left in the sixth with tightness in his right shoulder after giving up four runs and six hits.Hes fine, Yost said. I dont anticipate him missing this next start.Moustakas, the No. 9 hitter, hit a solo homer that put Kansas City up 4-3 in the fourth. Although he homered only once in the last 49 games of the regular season, Moustakas now stands tied with Willie Aikens for most homers by a Royals player in a single post-season.Getting good pitches to hit and not missing them, he said. Thats pretty much it.UP NEXTRoyals: Guthrie says his emotion Monday will come from competing in the playoffs, not pitching against his former team. I think history will be put, not even on a back burner, but on some kind of ... CROMWELL, Conn. -- Ryan Moore is in contention in the Travelers Championship -- again. Moore had an eagle and two birdies Saturday in a bogey-free 4-under 66 to take a one-stroke lead over Aaron Baddeley into the final round. "This is a tournament I really want to win and I know its a tournament I can win," said Moore, who has four top-10 finishes in eight starts in the event. The 31-year-old Moore had a 13-under 197 total at TPC River Highlands after opening with rounds of 63 and 68. He won the CIMB Classic in Malaysia at the start of the season in October for his third PGA Tour title. "Today was a great examples of It doesnt have to be pretty to shoot a great golf score," Moore said. "I honestly didnt feel great all day hitting the ball, but drove it well enough to kind of keep myself out of trouble." Moore eagled the par-5 sixth, holing a 37-foot putt from just off the green, to take the lead early in the afternoon. He has made one eagle in each of his three rounds this week. The eagle on No. 6 was something of a lucky break, Moore says, as his drive was off target. "I hit it right off the tee, quite a bit right and straight into the trees, which is not a good place to be, and obviously walking up I did not think I was going to have a shot at all," Moore said. "Just planned on pitching out almost sideways with the way the rough is. And apparently got a really good bounce and chased waay down the cart path, and I was actually still sitting on the edge of the cart path and I was only maybe 230 yards out.dddddddddddd So it had gotten pretty far down there." Moore chipped in for a birdie on No. 11 to move to 12 under and break a four-way tie for the lead. No one who has held a share of the third-round lead has won the Travelers since Stewart Cink in 2008. Baddeley had six birdies and a bogey in a 65. "Around here you feel like you should birdie every hole. There are a lot of birdie holes out there," said Baddeley, the Australian who won the last of his three PGA Tour titles in 2011. "But you have to be patient." Sergio Garcia, K.J. Choi, Scott Langley and Michael Putnam were tied for third at 11 under. Garcia had a 65, Choi shot 69, Langley 70 and Putnam 69. Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., shot 71 and was tied for 67th place. Garcia has five top-10 finishes in nine PGA Tour starts this season, and won the European Tours Qatar Masters in January. "Its been a solid season so far," Garcia said. "Theres no question Id like to have played better at the Masters and last week (at the U.S. Open)." Masters champion Bubba Watson was nine strokes back after a 67. He won in 2010 at River Highlands. Former Stanford star Patrick Rodgers, making his pro debut, was 4 under after a 71. Defending champion Ken Duke was 2 under after a 71.
